"Universes Collide" by Lianna Martin

I stare ahead

At

Layers and layers of beauty wrapped into

A single person

A single soul

How brightly we would shine, merged

I reach out - my brazen fingertips brushing against your demure semblance

But

The swirl of our conscious’ touching edge to edge is more than cold, terribly different to laughing at wooden bookshelves and wandering green pathways, our heads wrapped together admitting moments of life. How could such warmth be replaced by fathomless space fields and fields of wild rice? I am reeling into disorder my heart burns and my face how did I not see this coming but more so how could disarray arise from two things infinitely perfect outside each other I expected honey gold and red but standing before me is a woman infinitely far.

I can barely

Breathe

In the rubble

Is this what chaos looks like?

Is this what happens when dissimilar universes collide?
